DAY 1: CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST – BAMBU LODGE

Your adventure begins with an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 5:30 AM in our comfortable private vehicle. As we leave the city behind, we travel through breathtaking Andean landscapes, passing traditional villages and enjoying spectacular views of valleys and mountains.

By midday, we arrive at the entrance of Manu National Park, one of the most biodiverse protected areas in the world. From here, our exploration of the legendary Cloud Forest begins. This unique ecosystem is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including the famous Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru’s national bird, as well as monkeys, orchids, bromeliads, and colorful bird species such as the Blue-banded Toucanet, Golden-headed Quetzal, and Crested Quetzal.

Throughout the journey, we will make several stops to search for wildlife, photograph the scenery, and learn about the fascinating flora and fauna of the region from our expert guide.

In the afternoon, we arrive at Amazon Pona Lodge, a comfortable jungle lodge surrounded by nature, where we will spend our first night in the rainforest.

After dinner, we embark on an exciting night walk through the jungle. Equipped with flashlights, we will search for nocturnal wildlife such as tarantulas, tree frogs, snakes, armadillos, and other fascinating creatures that emerge after dark.

DAY 2: AMAZON PONA LODGE – JUNGLE EXPLORATION & RETURN TO CUSCO

After a delicious breakfast, we will venture deeper into the heart of the Amazon rainforest for a guided walk along ecological trails. Accompanied by our expert naturalist guide, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife, including Brown Capuchin Monkeys, Collared Peccaries, Squirrels Monkeys, and an impressive diversity of birds such as parrots, macaws, toucans, and other rainforest species.

Along the way, you will also learn about the fascinating medicinal plants traditionally used by local communities and discover the importance of the Amazon ecosystem.

Later, we will visit a small jungle lake where we will board a traditional wooden raft to explore the habitat of numerous aquatic species. This peaceful excursion offers excellent opportunities to spot the remarkable Hoatzin, often referred to as a «living prehistoric bird,» as well as herons, cormorants, kingfishers, and other wetland birds.

After lunch, you may choose to relax with a refreshing swim in the river or try your luck at sport fishing, enjoying the tranquility of the Amazon rainforest.

In the afternoon, we begin our journey back to Cusco, bringing our Manu adventure to a close with unforgettable memories of one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Arrival in Cusco is expected in the evening, with drop-off at your hotel.
